Sport: Anitelea Tuilagi to captain Manu v Japan

11:49 am on 29 May 2014

Anitelea Tuilagi will captain Manu Samoa in Friday night's one-off test against Japan in Tokyo.

The 27 year old, who earlier this month signed a two year deal with the Newcastle Falcons, says it's good to be back in the Manu again and says it's important the squad focus on their roles and play as a team.

Apia lock Maselino Paulino has been named as vice captain in what will be his first test appearance in two years.

The squad spent three days in camp in Auckland before leaving for Japan.

With the test being played outside the IRB international window, most front-line players are unavailable with all but five of the 23-strong squad currently based in Samoa.
