The election authorities in Fiji are reported to have registered the regime's proposed political party, Fiji First.
This comes after a raft of objections for alleged breaches of the Political Party Decree that risked to have party members jailed and/or fined.
The approval, reported by Fiji media, comes just hours after the general secretary of the proposed party, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum, invited Mr Saneem to reject the objections.
A police investigation into the alleged breaches is continuing, with the police unable to say if the probe will be complete before the elections due in September.
The party has been accused of campaigning before registering, of stealing the name of an existing or wound-up party and of making a false declaration.
The Fiji First leader, Rear Admiral Frank Bainimarama, who is abroad, has told FBC News, he will launch the party when returns from overseas.
So far, five parties have been registered.
