Samoan women's coach Euini Lale Faumuina says their 90-12 thrashing by the world champion Black Ferns was a steep learning curve.
In the first match between the two teams since 2006, the Manusina managed to hold the New Zealand attack at bay for the first fifteen minutes before the floodgates opened.
New Zealand eventually crossed for 14 tries, with Sharlene Fagalilo getting on the board for Samoa in the 53rd minute and Bella Milo adding a second in the final play of the game.
Euini Faumuina says it's certainly a wake-up call with only two months to go until the World Cup.
"Obviously they're not the champions for nothing and they've earnt that right
by being the classy team they are: strong all round and if you can't utilise those attacks all over the park you're going to be in trouble. It was a massive learning curve for us moving forward and much for us to consider, especially with the fitness."
Euini Faumuina says the Manusina hope to arrange some more matches before they leave for the World Cup in August.
