11:05 am on 20 June 2014

The Fiji Under 20s rugby team are looking to take Italy on out wide in Fridayt's Junior World Championship relegation match in Auckland.

The Pacific side have lost all four of their matches so far, against Ireland, France, Wales and Argentina.

The loser of the playoff for 11th and 12th place will drop to the second tier Junior World Rugby Trophy next season.

Assistant coach Iliesa Tanivula says they expect the Italians to be typically strong up front but believe they have the edge on the flanks.

"We've just got to get it out to the backs. We've scored some good tries through the backs and something we've got to try and keep it up for the boys and hopefully we will have a few balls to throw around come Friday."

Samoa also round off their tournament on Friday against Wales in the playoff for 7th and 8th place.
