The Ministry of Information in Fiji says its decision to refuse a journalist's accreditation to the Pacific Islands Development Forum was based on incorrect information.
The Ministry has issued an apology to Samisoni Pareti, the editor of Islands Business magazine, who was refused access to the Forum without explanation last week.
The Ministry's permanent secretary, Sharon Smith-Johns, says there was a miscommunication between the Ministry and the Media Industry Development Authority over whether Mr Pareti was a registered journalist.
Ms Smith-Johns says a full investigation has been launched.
MIDA is yet to comment on the issue.
