A former government official in the Northern Marianas has been arrested after the Public Auditor charged her with using state funds and materials for a political party during the 2009 elections.
Rose Mondala, who is 69, also used some of the money to build a fence at her house.
The charges she is facing include theft and misconduct in public office.
Ms Mondala is on bail of 7,500 US dollars.
