2:35 pm on 3 July 2014

The Korean men's cricket team will tour Fiji next week as part of their preparations for the 2014 Asian Games.

The tourists will arrive on Wednesday and play up to ten Twenty20 matches against the Fiji men's team, in Suva and Lautoka, during their 15-day stay.

The Executive Director of the Korea Cricket Association, Lee Hwayeon, who doubles as the team's head coach, says Fiji is one of the strongest cricketing nations in the East-Asia Pacific region, and the visit will provide a welcome test.

Meanwhile Cricket Fiji's General Manager, Inoke Lesuma, says the tour has come at an ideal time for the hosts, who must select a squad to tour India and Australia later in the year.
