Son of prominent Fiji leader on assault charge

The son of a prominent Fiji politician has been granted bail by the courts after being charged with four counts of assaulting his wife.

The man, who has been granted interim name suppression, has been told to surrender his travel documents and not to interfere with prosecution witnesses.

His case is to be called again on August the 11th.

The interim name suppression also applies to the woman who has also been charged with intent to cause grevious bodily harm and has been bailed to appear in the High Court.
