In Papua New Guinea, the MP for Manus, Ronnie Knight, has been referred to the Public Prosecutors Office for alleged misconduct in office.

In a statement, the Ombudsman Commission says it has investigated the alleged misconduct which arose from Mr Knight's failure to uphold his duties and responsibilities of office.

The Post Courier says the Ombudsman Commission would not elaborate on the nature of the allegations.

The public prosecutor has the discretion to bring or decline proceedings against Mr Knight.
