The Tongan Princess, Pilolevu Tuita, has sued a leading opposition politician, Akilisi Pohiva, for what is being described as malicious prosecution.
Radio Tonga says this comes after previous allegation by Mr Pohiva against Her Highness whom he reportedly accused of theft and embezzlement.
Princess Pilolevu is seeking 135,000 US dollars in compensation, saying he has damaged her reputation.
Radio Tonga says similar claims have been submitted by the prime minister, the justice minister, Clive Edwards and the Tongasat company.
