Nauru weightlifter Itte Detenamo has won his country's first medal at Glasgow Commonwealth Games, claiming silver in the men's over 105kg class.
The 27 year old lifted 174kg in the snatch and 222kg in the clean and jerk, for a total of 396kg, to match his second placed finish from the Delhi Games four years ago.
Canada's George Kobaladze won the gold medal with a Games record lift of 400kg.
Samoa's Lauititi Lui finished eighth while Niue's Daniel Nemani was ninth.
Kobaladze who recorded a Games record of 400kg.
Detenamo says he went into the event confident he could win the title but is still happy with his effort.
"I was supposed to get the gold but it didn't turn out, that guy came out strong. 2010 I had a big battle with the Australian and this one now with the Canadian so it's tough. I pushed him to his limit though, he did well".
On the track there was heartbreak for Fijian sprinter Banuve Tabakaucoro.
The 21 year old was disqualified from his 200m semi final at Hampden Park for making a false start.
Papua New Guinea's Toea Wisil finished seventh in her semi final, in a time of 24.48 seconds.
Meanwhile on the bowling green, Norfolk Island were knocked out in the quarter finals of both the women's pairs and men's fours against England and India.
