American Samoa is preparing to welcome the Polynesian voyaging canoe the Hokule'a which is due to arrive on the main island of Tutuila today.
Fautusi, traditional canoes, will sail out to escort the Hokule'a which is sailing around the world to demonstrate ancient sailing methods and promote marine conservation.
Yesterday, the boat arrived near Manu'a island and crew were welcomed at sea with by chiefs and school children who rode out on alia, or canoes, to greet the voyaging vessel.
