Papua New Guinea's parliament resumes today after an adjournment of more than two months.
A vast majority of MPs still supports the government despite the uncertainty surrounding the Prime Minister at the time of adjournment.

"Parliament was hastily adjourned back in June after police attempts to arrest the prime minister Peter O'Neill over his role in alleged illegal payments to a law firm. However, it's unclear whether at the time the government and speaker overlooked the fact that today is a holiday - National Prayer Day. While parliament business resumes this week Peter O'Neill has the support of even more MPs than before - over 90 percent of the house. Matters surrounding the Paraka Lawyers fraud case are still being played out in the courts while the arrest warrant for the prime minister, believed to be still active, rests with the police commissioner, Geoffrey Vaki, whom Mr O'Neill appointed in June."
