An arrest warrant has been issued in Papua New Guinea for the chief executive officer of the National Housing Estate.
The National newspaper reports Madeline Paulisbo is wanted for questioning by the police in relation to allegations of official corruption.
Officers from the National Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate served the arrest warrant on Ms Paulisbo, through her lawyer, last week.
An officer from the directorate told The National Ms Paulisbo's lawyer had assured them that she would appear for questioning but had failed to do so.
He says appropriate charges of official corruption would be laid against Ms Paulisbo when she appeared for questioning.
The officer says Ms Paulisbo is believed to be seeking a court order to stay the arrest warrant.
It's alleged she was involved in a conspiracy to defraud the corporation of its housing assets.
