Polynesian Airlines extends its operations

9:06 am on 5 September 2014

Polynesian Airlines is extending its operations to American Samoa's Manu'a from today.

The airline will initially have three flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

A spokesperson, Tuailemafua Toe Loia, says the flights are filling up very quickly after many months without any air service to the islands.

Tuailemafua says one of their staff members will be stationed in Manu'a to take care of ground operations and receive bookings there.

Polynesian Airlines' roundtrip fare is $US160, which is the same as a roundtrip to Samoa.

The Samoa carrier has been granted a 30 day approval by the US Department of Transportation to operate flights between Tutuila and Manu'a for the month of September.
