5:23 pm on 8 September 2014

A member and urban candidate of Fiji's SODELPA party has renewed his offer of debating the Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum.

Dr Tupeni Baba says a scheduled debate between Rear Admiral Bainimarama and his party's leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa, on Fiji Broadcasting Corporation, will no go ahead until FBC can confirm the questions will be live and not vetted.

A scheduled debate between the two leaders on FM96 will be held this Sunday.

Dr Baba says he is interested in a debate as well, but without any controls.

"I am happy to debate the number two - the attorney general. I've already mentioned everywhere I have spoken that I would like to have a debate either with Khaiyum or Bainimarama, anywhere, so long as there's freedom for the people who are asking the questions to ask right in, no interference, no filtering."
