Tonga's Princess Pilolevu Tuita is encouraging top local students to pursue further tertiary education overseas and bring their skills back to Tonga.

Radio Tonga reports Princess Pilolevu made the call while presenting awards for the 162 graduating students at the Tupou Tertiary Institute or TTI.

But the chairman of the TTI Advisory Board, 'Aisake Eke, who is Tonga's Finance Minister, says the institute is already conducting locally based courses in collaboration New Zealand's Whitireia Institute and soon will also do so with the University of Canberra.
