Tonga's Electoral Commission says over 500 people registered on Wednesday, the final day for enrolments in the November general election.
The Supervisor of Elections, Pita Vuki, told Matangi Tonga over 49,000 people have signed up to vote in Tonga's general election which will be held on November 27.
The census estimates there are just over 100,000 people living in Tonga.
He says the only people who can register now are those who turn 21 between now and the publication on the final roll on November 13.
Pita Vuki says the nomination of candidates will be held on October 23 and 24 and any civil servants who wish to stand must resign prior to their nomination.
