Just one local hotelier, with a Chinese busines partner, has put in a tender for the sale of the Samoa Land Corporation's multimillion dollar head office at Tuanaimato golf course.
The government has approved the site to become a new hotel.
Our correspondent says the tender, according to a reliable source, has been closed with only one bid, but a decision is yet to be made.
The source says the building will be sold to the winning bidder, but government land will be leased.
Meanwhile, the Samoa Land Corporation will be moved to the top floor of the new market at the Vaitele industrial zone.
The SLC head office will be stationed there and will be opened on Monday next week for its normal operation.
The corporation is under close scrutiny by the Controller and Chief Auditor for allege abuse of spending public funds in an annual report already being tabled and discussed in Parliament.
