The former chairman of the Vanuatu Public Service Commission, Maurice Michel, has lost his Supreme Court case disputing his dismissal by the Prime Minister Joe Natuman.

The government's stand was basically that Mr Michel could not be appointed because of his political affiliation to the Green Confederation of Moana Carcasses.

Mr Michel confirmed in court he had served as a political adviser to two Green Confederation ministers in 2010 and 2012.

He also has a criminal conviction.

Mr Natuman, who is the minister responsible for the commission, has named as its new chairman, Wilson Kanam.
