American Samoa's only hospital, the LBJ, is reducing basic charges for outpatient services by five US dollars from October the 1st.
It is the second cut in outpatient fees at the hospital this year.
The chairman of the Hospital Authority Board and Acting chief executive, Leilua Mase Akapo, says all outpatient services, including seeing the doctor, lab fees, and pharmacy charges will be cut.
It means the fees will have been cut by a third this year.
Leilua says the hospital can make the cuts after generating substantial savings by paying contract workers less.
He says it is also getting more funding under the Affordable Health Care Act.
