Sport: Fiji to present case for hosting schools rugby series

12:20 pm on 3 October 2014

The Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union will today make its case to their New Zealand and Australian counterparts for hosting next year's international series.

The Fijians joined the Trans-Tasman rivals for last year's series in Sydney and play their final match of this year's tournament in Wellington on Saturday.

The President of the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union, Napolioni Silatolu, says they've made it well known they would like to host the next edition.

"Hopefully we will do that before the Saturday game so we've informed some of the key people, with regards to this series, and they are giving us positive signs, but we have to present to them in proposal."

Napolioni Silatolu says if Fiji is awarded hosting rights they would also look at inviting a South African schools team to join the competition, while their Pacific neighbours may also be interested.
