Solomons campaign to prepare voters

5:39 pm on 16 October 2014

Transparency Solomon Islands is to begin conducting the first of its community awareness programmes to educate voters ahead of this year's election.

The SIBC reports the programme aims to educate voters about the role of MPs, the role of voters, the value of an individual's vote, choosing good leaders, keeping leaders accountable and saying no to vote buying.

Transparency Solomon Islands says understanding these responsibilities are vital to make informed decisions, as voters prepare to vote for their next Member of Parliament on November the 19th.

TSI is engaging volunteers from the Youth At Work programme to help conduct the awareness programme, with 12 communities within the three constituencies.
