Fiji's Police Commissioner says investigations have been completed into the alleged beating of a retired teacher by four members of the military and police earlier this month.

This follows a complaint by Joseva Bilitaki who claimed to have been detained and assaulted after an exchange of texts with the FijiFirst leader, Frank Bainimarama.

The police commissioner, Ben Groenewald, says two cases have been probed for consideration by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

"That is the case docket of the complaint against Mr Bilitaki of the annoying text messages as well as the second case docket that is the crime and the criminal charge that he laid against the arresting persons of assault."

The police commissioner, Ben Groenewald, says the files will be given to the DPP on Tuesday.
