The Honiara Magistrates Court in Solomon Islands has acquitted a former member of parliament for South Guadalcanal, David Dei Pacha, of two counts of conversion and abuse of office.
Mr Pacha was found not guilty of the charges because the prosecution had failed to prove he had misused public funds meant for a constituency micro-project.
Mr Pacha had twice faced the court for the same offences and had won both appearances.
His acquittal means Mr Pacha is free to contest next month's elections.
