Australia says it will give Fiji just under eight million US dollars to support job creation and local business in Fiji.
The announcement was made by Australia's foreign minister, Julie Bishop, who is in Fiji on an official visit that coincides with the Australia Fiji Business Council Forum.
She says the initiatives are at the heart of Australia's new aid policy which seeks to achieve better development outcomes in partnership with the private sector.
During her two-day stay, Ms Bishop has also announced that Canberra and Suva have again agreed to exchange High Commissioners.
Margaret Twomey was already appointed as Australia's High Commissioner following a 2012 agreement to restore full ties but Fiji declined to act on it.
Ms Bishop has also invited Fiji to join Australia's Seasonal Workers Programme.
Fiji has asked Australia to extend the SPARTECA agreement to maintain dutyfree access for Fiji garment exports to Australia.
