The Papua New Guinea cricket coach and former New Zealand international Dipak Patel says he can't wait to work with veteran Geraint Jones as the team prepares for their first ever One Day International against Hong Kong.

Jones has played international cricket for England and is set to play his 50th ODI against Hong Kong this weekend.

Patel says Jone's presence is of huge benefit to his young squad.

"You can't buy experience and certainly his presence in the team and obviously his contribution will be greatly accepted and I do believe that. Although I have never been involved with Geraint in the past but I'm looking forward to that as well. The fact that he has played international cricket and played in an Ashes series, that's priceless and certainly we will try and tap into that as much as we can."
