A group of New Zealand professional rugby players are in Vanuatu this weekend to spread the message against domestic violence.
Members of the Hurricanes are leading the effort with Motu Matu'u, Ambrose Curtis and Mark Abbott delivering the Break the Silence, End the Violence programme.
Hurricanes personal development manager Steve Symonds says the players will work with local authorities to promote positive outcomes.
"The experts in terms of the in-country reach are driving the programme, our job is to be a cog in that wheel so that we can maximise the impact. Things have evolved, we are doing a march on this trip for example that's only be done in one other location, we are actually playing a fun game of touch against the prime minister's invitation side, and that's never been done before."
Blues' player Liaki Moli, Taranaki's Timo Tutavaha, Auckland's Onosai Auva'a and the Chiefs' James McGougan are also going on the trip.
Last year the programme won the NZ Rugby Players' Association Off the Field achievement award.
