Taiwan has given the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat a million US dollars in aid.
Half the money is to be used for regional projects co-ordinated by Forum agencies and the rest will go to support an ongoing scholarship scheme, allowing students to study in Taiwan and Pacific institutions.

Taiwan has long been a backer of the Forum although it cannot take part in the Post - Forum Dialogue, because China is a partner with the regional body.
