Sport: Manu Samoa make wholesale changes

12:48 pm on 14 November 2014

Only four players remain in the Manu Samoa rugby team that lost to Italy last week, named to play Canada this weekend.

Sakaria Taulafo is the only forward to back up in the revamped starting line-up.

Captain David Lemi, centre Alapati Leiua and halfback Kahn Fotuali'i also play successive tests.

Team manager Namulauulu Sami Leota says the Canadians will provide stiff opposition as proven by their victory over Namibia last week.

"Every team's preparing for the Rugby World Cup. We're expecting, again, a very tough match. We are not gonna take this match lightly. We know they are playing well at the moment and also on our side we just want to make sure we are here to build into our positions but at the same time we would like to get a win."

Four players will make their debut. Warratahs speedster Alofa Alofa takes his place on the wing, Hurricanes signing Rey Lee Lo is in the midfield, Counties player Ahsee Tuala starts at fullback and Highlanders standout TJ Ioane is on the flank.
