Heavy rain causes disruptions in Fiji

Two evacuation centres have been opened in Fiji following widespread rain that has caused flooding.

People of Qauia Village in Lami that is under flood waters are being evacuated

The government says it coordinating with relevant agencies to assist, particularly in the Central Division.

The rain has led to many road closures across Viti Levu.

The Fiji Roads Authority has urged the public to reconsider or take cautionary measures when travelling in the Central Division especially in parts of Tailevu, Naitasiri, Nausori, Rewa where there is limited road access.
