A woman has been fatally shot by a police officer in Saipan in the Northern Marianas.
The Marianas Variety news reports more than 20 police responded to the scene of the shooting in downtown Garapan.
It is reported that the police officer then shot himself and is in a serious condition in hospital.
The dead woman worked at a local law office and is thought to be related to the officer.
