The Solomon Islands Prime Minister is expected to announce his new Finance Minister today.

There has been intense speculation over the past week over who Manasseh Sogavare will appoint to the portfolio, as well as the Police Minister.
Mr Sogavare earlier said he had made up his mind and would be informing the Governor General on Monday.
The race for the finance position is between a former prime minister and finance minister, Snyder Rini and Mathew Wale, who also has ministerial experience.
While social media reports claim Mr Rini has already been sworn in, Government House says the ceremony to legalise the appointments will be held this afternoon.
