The prime minister of Solomon Islands has named MPs Snyder Rini and Peter Shanel Angovaka as the respective ministers for Finance and Treasury as well as Police, National Security and Correctional services.

The pair's appointments have been confirmed by Government House a week after the other ministers were chosen.
The two will be taking their oath before the Governor General, Sir Frank Kabui, this afternoon.
Snyder Rini is a former prime minister and two-time finance minister and Peter Shanel has been is a former minister of commerce and also of provincial government.
In 2008, Mr Shanel lost his seat after being jailed for nine months on an assault conviction and for the illegal possession of a weapon.
