Tonga's tourism association has asked the government to appoint a new tourism minister, saying the current one has no experience.
In an interview with Radio Tonga, the association's chair, Saia Moehau, said he respects the minister, Dr Pohiva Tu'i'onetoa, but would prefer someone who had experience in the tourism sector.
He put forward two people he would like to see as minister; Semisi Sika or 'Etuate Lavulavu.
Meanwhile, Mr Moehau also accused the former government of being ignorant of the association's needs and stagnating tourism growth in Tonga.
But the former tourism minister, Viliami Latu, says the association was mandated to carry out its duties according to government revenue.
