Sport: Fiji Pearls outclassed by New Zealand

Fiji were handed a netballing lesson by New Zealand on Monday, outclassed 81-28 in Suva in the opening match of the Oceania Series.

It was the first time the Silver Ferns had played in Fiji but aside from the sweltering heat it was business as usual for the world's second-ranked team.

The Pearls went goal for goal in the opening minutes and made a strong start to the second quarter before New Zealand pulled away to lead by 10, 17 and 35 goals at the end of each quarter.

The Silver Ferns are back in action on Tuesday against Samoa.
