American Samoa's Commissioner of Public Safety has appointed a task force to investigate two separate shootings last year.

Save Liuato Tuitele says the task force will take over from the Criminal Investigation Division the inquiry into a shooting on December the 28th that injured a police officer in Lepuapua, and the November shooting of the Leone substation.
No arrests have been made in either incident.
Save says the taskforce's six officers are some of the territory's most experienced investigators, and the FBI in Hawaii has also been asked to assist.
