Former Fiji cabinet minister and navy commander Viliame Naupoto is now the chief of staff of the Royal Fiji Military Forces.
FBC reports he has been promoted to captain for the job.
The former chief of staff, Brigadier Mohammed Aziz, becomes the deputy commander of the military.
