Tuvalu's Prime Minister says he's confident he'll retain his position after the election in March, saying his administration has worked to stabilise politics and enhance the state of Tuvaluans.

Enele Sopoaga, who became Prime Minister in 2013 after a vote of no confidence that overthrew Willie Telavi after months of political deadlock, says his government has achieved a lot in a short time.
Mr Sopoaga says his government has been successful in improving access to education and scholarships as well as working to increase employment and improve outer island infrastructure.
"I think the past 16-17 months, we have shown the roadmap for Tuvalu, the way forward and synchronised the most needed developments to be delivered - not just pulling everything out, you have to identify and prioritise, and we've done that. But unfortunately time has been rather limited on our side."
Enele Sopoaga says there are still a lot of critical issues that need to be addressed.
