The latest budget policy statement setting out the strategic agenda for the next financial year has been finalised by the Cook Islands cabinet.
The Minister of Finance Mark Brown told the Cook Island News the budget policy statement reflected on the Cook Islands' 50 years as a nation.
Mr Brown says the statement is about celebrating the people, environment and economy and putting key areas of priority on the agenda.
He says focuses of the budget include education, lifelong learning, law and order and sanitation upgrades on Rarotonga and Aitutaki.
Mr Brown says the policy statement will be released to the public shortly.
