A police officer who collapsed during intensive training on Guam last week has died in hospital.
49-year-old Siegfried Mortera collapsed while undergoing training for Guam's SWAT unit on Wednesday, and was taken to hospital in a critical condition suffering the effects of dehydration.
Two others were also taken to hospital for dehydration, and are still receiving treatment.
The Marianas Variety reports Guam's police chief, Fred Bordallo Jr, saying that due to the successive occurrence of trainees being sent to hospital, the department has decided to reassess phsyical training exercises for trainees.
