The criminal court in French Polynesia has again deferred a case brought against the French High Commissioner, Lionel Beffre, over his refusal to execute a ruling by France's highest court.
Mr Beffre decided last July not to deliver the document to officially remove the then president Gaston Flosse, who was convicted of corruption and told to relinquish all his political offices.
As a result, a citizen, Yves Conroy, reported Mr Beffre to the police.
The High Commissioner was first due in court in Papeete in December but the case was deferred to this week, and now it has been deferred until mid-September.
After Flosse failed to get a pardon from President Francois Hollande, Mr Beffre did deliver the court decision which gave Flosse a four-year suspended jail sentence, a 170,000 US dollar fine and banned him from public office for three years.
