Sport: World Cup-bound Vanuatu in NZ for Beach Volleyball Open

Vanuatu pair Linline Mansale and Loti Joe begin their New Zealand Beach Volleyball Open campaign in Auckland on Friday.

The Melanesian team is seeded fifth and take on two New Zealand teams on day one of competition, with the top two from each pool progressing to quarter finals tomorrow on Saturday.

One of Vanuatu's junior players, Serah Bule, is also in New Zealand for the week.

Earlier this month, Vanuatu qualified for the Beach Volleyball World Cup in the Netherlands.

The Pacific Games champions are ranked third in Asia, with the top four teams from each confederation earning direct qualification to the June tournament.

Vanuatu finished 9th at the 2013 World Cup in Poland.
