American Samoa's chief immigration officer has testified in court that a Samoa citizen who was barred from the territory after sex convictions, got in using an alias.

Sex offender Pelenato Lino, also known as Pelenato Maiava, was able to travel to the territory even though he was banned from the territory for the durations of his 7 years of probation.

Lino travelled to the territory at least three times and this became apparent when he was recently arrested for disturbing the peace.

The chief immigration officer Tamasa Dennis Lutu says the man got into the territory using the fake identity.

He also told the court the Immigration Office has an antiquated computer system that is not secure.
