Schools in Vava'u in Tonga are in desperate need for more teachers and laboratory equipment for secondary schools.

The head of the school division in Vava'u, Taniela Vaha'i, says there was a meeting with teachers, the education minister, 'Akilisi Pohiva, and other cabinet ministers yesterday.
TBC reports Taniela Vaha'i saying Mr Pohiva requested that appreciation be given to unpaid preschool teachers.
