A Samoan church is in court over the sacking of one of its ministers.

The Elders Committee of the Congregational Christian Church terminated the position of Reverend Kerita Reupena, who was serving in a parish in Brisbane.

The sacking follows an internal dispute over the tenure of another minister in Sydney and a separate issue of allocation of church money to a parish on the island of Savai'i.

The Reverend Elder Reupena's lawyer, Leulua'ialii Olinda Woodroffe, says the termination was spiteful.

"I firmly believe, after due consideration of all the evidence before me that there was no justice done. It was a decision that was motivated by ego. I am dealing with men with silver tongues and I don't like it."

Leulua'ialii Olinda Woodroffe says her client will seek an injunction against the termination.
