Political parties in the Cook islands have been holding final meetings before the crucial Vaipae-Tautu by-election on Tuesday.
The by-election could produce a hung parliament, sparking the need for another general election.
The Democratic Party general secretary Eddie Drollet says the party held their last public meeting on Thursday night to promote candidate Teinakore Ioane, who is the wife of the late Democratic Party MP Kete Ioane.
At the same time Prime Minister Henry Puna and other members of the Cook Islands Party have been on Aitutaki to support their candidate Mona Ioane.
Mr Puna says Mona Ioane has his full support despite an uncertain future as an MP as the police investigation into allegations of bribery at the 2014 General Election continues.
One Cook Islands Party leader Teina Bishop is also confident his candidate Amiria Davey could be number 24 in Parliament..
The Chief electoral officer Taggy Tangimetua says there are over 400 voters on the Vaipae-Tautu electoral roll.
Taggy Tangimetua says the final count will be conducted on Wednesday, which is when the winning candidate will be announced.
