Sport: Pacific Oceania finish 13th at Junior Fed Cup qualifiers

Pacific Oceania finished a credible 13th at the final Asia / Oceania Junior Fed Cup tennis qualifiers in Australia.

The team of Tammy Ackerman, Ayana Rengiil and Mulan Kamoe beat Uzbekistan 2-1 on the final day in Shepparton, Victoria to finish with three wins and three losses.

The singles rubbers were shared one each with the Northern Marianas' Ackerman beaten 6-1

6-4 and Fiji's Kamoe winning 6-0 6-3.

As in the previous tie against Sri Lanka, the doubles pairing of Kamoe and Palau's Rengiil then combined to win the deciding rubber 7-6 6-2.

Australia, Japan, Chinese Taipei and New Zealand will represent Asia / Oceania at the Junior Fed Cup World Finals in Madrid in September, with Australia, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong to contest the Junior Davis Cup finals.
