Georgia has announced that it will donate 100,000 US dollars to Vanuatu to aid in its recovery from cyclone Pam.
A letter from Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili conveying his government's condolences and offer of support was hand delivered to the Vanuatu Prime Minister Joe Natuman in Port Vila last week.
Mr Natuman has since responded thanking Georgia for its support and saying Vanuatu remains committed to strengthening the diplomatic links established two years ago.
Earlier this month, Vanuatu's foreign affairs minister Sato Kilman returned from a trip to Moscow aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties with Russia and which resulted in Russia sending two large aircraft laden with relief aid.
Russia and Vanuatu are also considering a visa waiver and aid in the agriculture, energy, fisheries, tourism and education sectors.
