Samoan PM a "yapping lapdog" says Bainimarama

The Prime Minister of Fiji Frank Bainimarama says his Samoan counterpart is the only prime minister who is always on the attack.

Mr Bainimarama was responding to Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi's remarks this week over Fiji refusing to retake its seat at the Pacific Islands Forum.

Tuilaepa said Mr Bainimarama was new to governance and with his military background, he could only "play the drums and train".

The Fijian prime minister has responded, telling the website FijiVillage Tuilaepa was a lapdog and his yapping is nothing new.

"You know he's the only prime minister that attacks everyone, left, right and centre. He attacks his dog, he attacks his rugby team, he attacks everything he can get his hands on. But we've heard this yapping from the Samoan lapdog before, for a long time, day in day out and it really means nothing. He's talking about me playing drums. At least I can play an instrument. All he can do is bark and dance to tunes until they feed him again."
